Not Every Cable Under a Desk Is the Same

Permanent Electrical Wiring

- Photograph the existing layout.
- Record where furniture, floor boxes, cable risers and visible service connections sit before anything is disconnected.
- Locate all floor-level services.
- Check beneath desks, pedestals and cable trays rather than relying only on architectural drawings.
- Determine which infrastructure is retained.
- Building management, the project manager, IT representatives and relevant service contractors should resolve ambiguous outlets before demolition.
- Decommission workstation equipment.
